I once read something about Keiichi that I'm inclined to agree with. This person suggested that Keiichi may have very well already participated in the battle in his own way. He was a friend on the outside of things for Kamui, and he showed him that there is an alternative to dying. And that is living. While everyone else around him is just rolling over and dying (either literally or figuratively) when the thing they live for is gone, or having death wishes, or resigning themselves to fates of death, Keiichi is smiling for his parents' sakes, and going on with his life. Perhaps something such as this could still potentially affect Kamui's final wish. No "Deus ex machina" about it. It's been developed slowly along with Kamui and Keiichi's friendship. It's not about him suddenly sprouting powers and being able to blow things up. It's just about him being a normal human being. And using Yuzuriha's grandmother is an extremely poor comparison, because she hasn't even appeared in any capacity in the manga, while Keiichi has been featured several times and has actually developed a friendship with the main character.

I admit, Keiichi being given is tarot card is a little farfetched, but we're only speculating right now. No big deal. We aren't saying we're right. I personally think that Fuuma won't be the Sun card either, and that X will be 20 vol. because they still have a TON of shit to wrap up, and if they are just going to leave it hanging, they are more disappointing and lazy than I give them credit for. Besides, for the most part, CLAMP has never gone halfway on anything. They will finish their tarot deck. There's no way in hell they'd just leave it at the Sun, if I know CLAMP. But hey, I could be wrong, I could be right, we don't know right now. We can only guess and wait and see what CLAMP is going to do with things.
