Subject: "This girl does not wish for Kamui's death"

Reading X9 earlier today, that line struck a chord with me. I've read X9 and seen the corresponding episodes about a zillion times before, but Kakyou's line, "This girl does not wish for Kamui's death," stood out today. Probably since recently I was thrust forever into thinks-too-much-about-X mode.

The words are said when DoE-Kamui tries to pull the Shinken out of Kotori, and Kakyou posesses her body and prevents him from killing DoH-Kamui.

When Kakyou is done delaying DoH-Kamui's death, he talks to Kotori, and they speak something along the lines of "Fuuma will never be able to come back if he were to succeed in killing Kamui."

Kakyou always refers to the two as Kamui--never Fuuma and Kamui.

Two or three pages later, Kotori says [yet again] that if the earth was to break, she'd rather be the one to break. Technically didn't she change the future, since she broke?

In the first pages of the volume, Hinoto is crying and says that the DoE-Kamui has killed the two people that DoH-Kamui loves. So, Fuuma is dead, right? Well, according to Hinoto, it's more-or-less his past.

But "this girl does not wish for Kamui's death." Which Kamui is being referred to is never specified.

Again, Kotori seemingly changed the future, not only by breaking, but also by preventing DoH-Kamui's death. (Not too sure about the last one though).

She also said "I love them both," so naturally she would not want either Kamui to die. (Well, that's more or less a "duh" thing to say... XD; )

So maybe, just maybe, Fuuma will definitely come back?
