I kinda think it's lame on their part, too. I don't want to sound like I think they "owe" us anything, because of course it's a capitalistic venture and they only owe themselves. However, I've dealt with this "write and run" stuff from too many authors (Rosemary Edghill and Andre Norton, most notably) too be patient with it anymore. If you're not going to finish your series, SAY SO. Don't leave the fans hanging. Almost thirty years after "Uncharted Stars" was finished, my sister and I were still holding out hope that Norton would be kind and not leave that godawful cliffhanger as the end of Murdock and Eet's story... but she never said anything and kept writing other things. (We're not that old, incidentally... we just picked it up as teenagers in the nineties and expected there would be an ending, since it was such an old book. No such luck.)

So needless to say, I'm jaded regarding authors and their ability to finish what they start. If CLAMP's gonna abandon X for good, they should say so. If this is a temporary hiatus, they should say that too. But it's not cool to say nothing at all.
