For once, I agree with you. While it's undeniable that TB/X and YnM share a lot of similarities, so do a lot of series in the dark shoujo genre. Seen or read Mirage of Blaze? I think it's closer to TB than Yami no Matsuei is, and probably closer to YnM than TB is as well. Doesn't mean they're ripping each other off.

I mean, look at how many fantasy novels contain a tall warrior who marries a princess and carries a magical sword. Or huge, evil dragons. Or wizards. Same with pretty boys and ofuda- it's a convention of the genre, not a stolen idea.

The bloody X on Tsuzuki's skin was going a tad far, though. Maybe it was an homage to CLAMP?
