They know "X" is ending very soon and they feel like they haven't completely converted all of "X" fans to "Gohou Drug" and "XXXholic". So here comes "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle" to entice those who still haven't been tempted to step outside the "X" realm. It'll be easier to entice those readers with established, well-loved characters than to create a set of brand new characters.

I can't believe Mokona produced so many pages for Tsubasa's first issue (and this is supposed to be a weekly thing) while she only produces measly 16 pages each month for "X". Maybe it's the more complex artwork for "X" that prevented her from doing more pages. But still, sheesh, talk about preventing the inevitable (the end of "X").
