Subject: A question for parents or baby and child experts...

I recently had my first child, a little girl called Lily Rose, and I'm currently on maternity leave, but when the time comes to go back to work I'll have to decide whether to go back, take more time off or quit altogether.

If I wasn't on maternity leave I would be working on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and bringing in over $2000 a day. On my days off I paint and earn approximately $600 per painting, but a painting can take anywhere from an afternoon to 2 days.

I was wondering when you returned to work...how old were your children, and what hours did you work?

I definitely want to stay at home until Lily starts school, but after that I'm not sure...I enjoy painting and love playing with my little girl, but losing about $5000 a week would have a serious impact on our lifestyle, and on what we could afford to give Lily.
