 What is the teen rite of passage like in your hood? In my hood, when a child became a teen, we threw a party and invited friends and relatives, but the child couldn't actually join the party until he or she had completed a task, usually gaining a skill point or something like that. Then, after blowing out the birthday candles, the new teen would announce his or her aspiration, preferences and other aspects of Nuidya Simology that are decided at teenhood. After that, they would be considered adults by Nuidya standards and got to do things like getting jobs and voting at Council meetings.
This was before the disease, so it might be different from now on, with bits of the Rupuma coming of age ceremony in there as well. My brother Sentu is having his next year, so he's very excited too. I wish I could be there to see it, but he said he'd send us pictures and tell us all about it.
