I agree, children in the preoperational stage have an amazing imagination. I have a neice who is 2 years old and a nephew who is 2 1/2 and it's very amusing to see the things they come up with. My nephew demonstrates the belief in animism at times (the belief that inanimate objects have a life of their own) so he thinks his stuffed animal can talk. And often times adults forget that they have egocentrism at this stage, they can't take another persons point of view. Sometimes adults will try to explain to the child why a behavior is innapropriate by talking about other's feelings and the child can't grasp this concept so it's important to remember appropriate ways of dealing with behavior issues for each age group.
