Thanks for the "impressive vocabulary" comment, but I don't have any "personal agenda". And jesus christ, I already said that I'm ONLY talking about alchohlism. Drinking is a CHOICE. After you make that CHOICE you develop those brain receptors, right? I don't have the shakes if I stop my two beers a week. If I take crystal meth, I develop those receptors, right? Ask someone with cancer eating away their fucking insides if they had a choice to take their first drink of Tumor Juice. I never said that being an alcoholic is "all in their head", any more than cirrhosis of the liver is, but it started as a choice. A behavoir.

Alcoholism requires treatment, whether it is by yourself deciding to stop, entering a program like AA or S.O.S., or going into therapy with pharmaceutical help. However, they are not "powerless", like AA demands you admit. Obviously there are physical effects and the person needs to deal with them. With the best science can offer - NOT RELIGION if it's not their bag. Please don't imply that I'm out of my depth because I can swim quite well. And my mind is open to all new possibilities, it's just not so open that my brain falls out.

Fuck. This is going nowhere fast. Let's agree to disagree or something.
