ok, once again, I have to say that cheerleading IS a sport... just because there is no Ball involved, doesnt mean its not a sport.and sum sports have almost no phisical activity... I mean take golf for example.. what to they do besides hit a ball in a little hole? Hmmm not much there... but cheerleading is another story. We work almost everyday... tumbleing, flipping, dancing, and lifting girls who weigh anywhere from 80-120 lbs, sumtimes more than that. and I have been knocked out from being fallen on, so there is contact. Cheerleaders are constantly injured, strained muscles, falling from bulids, injured tumbeling, gettin hit by a flyer, numerous things could happen. And it is hard to make a girl go 6-9 ft in the air... and no, we are NOT allowed to have nails, so its not about breaking nails. But its fun and we all compete for the same thing, 1st place at comp. I believe that makes a sport, when you have a goal for doing something phisical. To cheerleaders, the goal, is the gold, like many other sports. So yes cheerleading IS a sport.
