Hello everyone!

I know it has been a lonnnnnnng time since I have visited the message board. I haven't read everything in depth yet but I did see a few things that concerned me and so I wanted to address those issues. Please don't take anything I say to be hostile in nature. I'm not angry at all, just expressing my side of things. : )

To Kara: I understand why you would have reservations about entering. My question is, why didn't you e-mail me directly? I would have been happy to tell you anything you wanted to know.

To EVERYone in general: I am truly truly sorry if there were a great deal of disappointments. This year was better in terms of the number of people entered and the sheer amount of enthusiasm that I felt from every one of you. It is exactly that which motivates me to press on with the competition year after year.

However, as we all know, sometimes the unexpected happens and things don't always turn out the way we plan. It began at the beginning of the summer when I purchased a computer for my aunt because I was so proud of her getting her GED. Since she has practically been a mother to me I wanted to do something special for her. However, the man who sold me the system was dishonest and I was involved in a long legal battle that just ended last week.

Second, I was promoted this year to the position of WATCH intern and because of bad planning I was exhausted by the time crowning rolled around due to intense training. The updating of the website also suffered as well. After that, I had a girl whom I thought to be my friend move in with me only to discover that she was psychotic. Again, this took a toll on me on a physical and emotional level. Luckily, I was able to get away from all of that, but it was the cause of a major delay in getting everyone's packages out.

Third, I do not have a car which prevents me from doing the simplest things. I am working on that and hopefully by December things will be taken care of, but every place I cannot bus to I must seek out the aid of others and I HATE to impose. Since I mistakenly thought I would actually be getting paid for the job I do, my entire budget for the year was completely incorrect.

These are not excuses, not by any means. As people you trusted me with your money and in my eyes you did not recieve all that you deserved. I did the best I could do with the budget in terms of doing what I felt was best for EVERYone and if that meant sacrificing a 10" crown for the grand supreme winner in order to purchase a crown for all of the representatives this year then that was my logic.

Also, allow me to explain my thinking behind the price differences. The basic package is for those who do not have a lot of money to compete but would still like the chance. Entry fees for most competitions similar to this one are going up up up. We must remember however that this pageant is about the quality of the entrant, not the amount of money she can contribute. It's a balance. By purchasing the basic package she is of the knowledge that she will recieve a medallion and her state title in name only. No crown or banner. She STILL has a chance to be a national winner. Those who choose to pay more also recieve their state title but also get a keepsake crown and banner to show for it. Neither of the two entry types are treated any differently. It is a matter of personal preference for each person. This year I decided to provide even the basic package entrants with a crown and banner for the simple fact that I was so proud of everyone. This was my decision paid for with my own money so please don't accuse me of monetary mismanagement : )

Again I ask for your understanding in this matter. I am trying as hard as I can to keep things under control. With time, all of my wrongs will be corrected and that is one promise I can make with confidence. I just hope that this has not completely shaken your confidence within me and the Sparkle America/Radiant Royalty namesake.
