Well done, you handled it well. Just ask the spirits of light to go to this area and help the spirits there. Send light in your mind to this place and all will be well. Keep this up until you feel it has cleansed the area. As for someone following you home...it was just a spirit who saw your light and was attracted to it...you have probably helped this one to move on or at the very least helped it to know that light is on its way to this dark area in the physical world.
