Ray,
Obstructive Apnoea are not common among our age. During sleep, the soft tissues and muscles around the throat become relaxed, the posture (better sleep on sides, if you can control it!) can cause obstruction of airway. Obesity with flaby muslces, alcoholic intoxication, dentures etc contribute towards it. If you snore, it's partial obstruction; if you don't you ar either ok or fully obstructed! And, if you are o2 deprived, you get tired or can't rhyme your poem or can't do courting in court! Or get sleepy watching your porno.

I have worked as a hospice volunteers for years, and, in a way, I have assisted in death "labour", but have not cross over. Fear of death occurs if you think about it, think too much about the uncertain future, or even about after death issues. (Frankly, no ones knows about after death, not many Lazarus around, except in Eliot's Prufrock)

The days ahead are bonuses, even working in cemetry. I am learing my Masters in English. Have my first lesson last week, stretching 9 hours on alternate sundays! Lots of interesting reading. However too many long assignments. Told my tutor what my daughter said, "Dad, study if you find interest, but don''t have to pass." We all laughed aloud. There are 2 other pensioners and 3 other teachers. It's tough course for working teachers.

Find a hobby or interest to do. Pass of fail, the Masters have no market values for me. I am closing my Sundays for school; next year, the night clinic, and then half day or alternate days ... earning some money for wine, dine and school fees ...
