Aye, for every year that�s gone,
It is a year nearer to the end.
But fond memories are borne,
of happy times with a friend,
our companion to the very end.
But our bodies refuse to bend
unlike the willows in the wind.
Old bodies that�ve often sinned
Some have lost all their teeth
Others have not much hair.
Yet none�s ready for the wreath!
Alas, it's much too early to despair,
so wine, dine, love and be merry,
and if free, do find a lass to marry!
