There was a long segment tonight on ABC National TV News re the 'arrest' of Anwar Ibrahim (again?) and that he could be barred from the coming elections.

It makes you wonder how the Australian Government that preaches democracy, freedom of speech and the right of citizens can even think of signing a FTA agreement with the present Malaysian Government.

Instead of putting presuure on the Malaysian Govt. to consider better human rights issues, our Federal Labor Govt. not only wants a FTA - but to send refugees (coming in as "boat" people" to Australia) to Malaysia in exchange for UN refugees already in Malaysia (rate of 4 to 1 in your favour).
I wonder how 'our' boat refugees will be treated over there?

Sad to say, our own Federal Govt. is embroiled in a most disgusting code of conduct behaviour trying to protect one of its MP's from being censured and barred from voting in Parliament (due to "incorrect" use of Union funds).
Then our Speaker in the Parliament has suspended himself from the Chair because he is involved in a sexual harassment claim by one of his male staff and that the Speaker may have ripped off some of his travel entitlements.

OMG.....the Labor Govt. is a minority Govt. and even one or two votes less in Parliament can bring down the Govt.
Sad to say, this Labor Govt. is absolute shit. It is predicted that it will lose power in the next elections by a huge margin.

I can hear some of you guys thinking "Hope it happens here too".
