As I said, Swan Fong mentioned that his brother was a non-smoker and still got lung cancer. The bad luck part was probably just SF feeling a bit depressed about both his brothers getting cancer with an inevitable ending.

I think you may be overeacting to an expression of sorrow and denial that both brothers have been unlucky to be afflicted with cancer.
I certainly wasn't going to mock SF 'incovenience of facts'.
