Have been losing sleep lately watching the Rugby World Cup. The live telecast comes on the air at 0300 hours and ends at about 0500 hours. The matches, Australia v England, France v New Zealand and England v France were particularly exciting. The finals this weekend should also be an exciting match. Looks like South Africa may emerge champion.

These rugby fellas are really tough and can take the knocks without complaining. All the players play to the whistle and the referee's decision is never questioned. There is no retaliation against the opponents for the knocks received. It is really a gentlemen's game, unlike football where players are a pampered lot. Some are highly touted and over paid and are suspected to be on a second pay sheet. A slight knock will send the player writhing on the ground ostensibly in great pain. There is a lot of pretence and play acting. The "injured" player miraculously recovers after a free kick is given in his favour. He may even take the free kick himself.

I am slowly losing interest in football. Better spend the time scoring with two balls.
