The top emotional need of a man is ultimately Sex, whereas for the women is intimacy and love, and sex with the man is to obtain love, and the man's professed love is to obtain sex. The communication in tender words and in good ambience is indeed comforting. There's nothing "wrong", as long as the exchage or trade is fair.
