Subject: Solver Ad Mpeg

I've only ever downloaded 2 suave mpegs - holly valance and solver. They're both excellent and play back as well as anything I've seen on windows media player. In terms of quality, my uneducated eye can't distinguish between them.
PS. I haven't seen the solver ad on Melbourne TV.

Why did'nt you say Solver PAINT suave? then i would have known what you ment straight away =) And WOW Suave the new divix or whatever your using is billiant! same perfect quailty as your small mpegs.

This is an MPEG1 like all of my other clips, only I didn't shrink it at all - this is the actual size of the source signal. I tried DivX as well but found once again the quality was no better at the same file size, so why bother.

I was concerned that some people with older machines might have problems playing it back smoothly. I tried it on my old 400MHz PC and it was very jerky, so I'm hoping most people are up to date with their hardware.

Interesting that the Solver paint ad is not seen in Melbourne. If you're wondering what's in the rest of the ad, it was just some other people telling us what they solvered - she was the only one worth capturing.

LOL Suave, i don't think many people with reasonable knowledge would still have something that slow.

what type of divx did you use?
single pass cbr? or 2pass vbr?
i prefer xvid over divx...quality seems a lot better in my eyes...

I was using VBR 1-pass quality based. I'm keen to try XviD but it is currently not available for download at www.xvid.org.
