William "Bill" Hotz

died August 7, 2012. Bill was born January 29, 1927 in Indianapolis to Roy John and Margaret Blanche (Griner) Hotz. Bill graduated from Arsenal Technical High School where he held membership in the Madrigal Singers, Tech Choir, and Senior Honorary Tech Legion; he studied piano with Marie Zorn, IU School of Music, and graduated with honors from IU's Business School. An army veteran, Bill served three years during the Korean conflict. Bill managed Kroger groceries in Indianapolis and was employed in the Monroe County assessor's office. Bill was a Masters level Bridge player. Survivors include sister Marilyn, beloved friend Betty Jo Irvine, and goddaughter Sara Rebecca Irvine. Memorial contributions may be made to Arsenal Technical High School Alumni Assoc, the Audubon Society, Public Radio Station WFIU, and the Opera Dept. IU School of Music.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 15, 2012, at 11:00 am in the Commons Room, Bell Trace Senior Living Center, 800 Bell Trace Circle, Bloomington, In.
