Author: Erik Venum
Subject: A change of pace, and a mighty big Challenge Part 1

As the sun begins to set overthe city of Chicago, a cherry red convertible pulls up to the graveyard in time to see Venum coming out of the shadows of the graveyard. Venum begins brushing his hand up against the tombstones of some of the graves, both fresh and old. He looks ahead and sees the car that is now parked right outside the gate, and grins when the drivers side door opens up. Out steps a tall man with dark hair and wearing a suit. Venum sees another man, one with a camera sitting in the back, but doesn’t seem to mind one bit. Venum continues to walk up to the old metal gate, to meet the man who also is walking up to the gate as well. Venum and the man meet at the gate at the same time, nether one saying a word, just looking each other right in the eye. After a few moments of complete silence, the camera man cracks a smile and slips his hand through the gates bars.

Man: Erik, you old dog. How the heck are ya man?

Venum continues to stare at the man at the gate, before slightly cracking a smile and grabbing his hand to shake it.

Erik Venum: Jackson, its been a long time my friend. Come on in.

Venum backs away from the gate and opens it wide for Jackson to step through and enter the graveyard. Jackson doesn’t move from his original standing point.

Hey, umm Erik, you think we could do this thing somewhere else? Graveyards have always scared the crap out of me. I will never understand how you can just sit and hang out around these places all the time.

Jackson, you have known me since we were 10 years old. You know that I have always have had a fascination about these places. They are comforting, and relaxing. I feel like I am free to be who I am here.

Very true, but still, do you think that we can do this interview someplace else? I still don’t like these places.

Venum rolls his eyes and walks through the gate, closing it behind him.

Thanks a lot Erik, I really appreciate it man. I have this great out of the way place that we can go to….

Not quite so fast, you don’t like the graveyard, that’s fine. I have this other place that we can do this thing.

You don’t mean…..

You got it Jackson.

Great, well, I guess that its better then the graveyard. Mind if we get started while we drive? It is rather a long drive.

Sure thing.

Jackson nods to his camera man in the back seat, and the large man in the back turns on the camera.

This is “Action” Jackson of Channel 4 News. I am here driving down the road with newcomer to the CWF, a man who has been in wrestling for many years, and has recently come out of retirement. Venum, welcome back to the world of wrestling.

Jackson, its good to be back to a life where I can feel at ease and continue to live a lifestyle that I am use to. A life style that I have lived before, and have lived for most of my life.

Tell me, and the entire world about your experiences thus far in the CWF.

Well Jackson, I have been in this federation for about a month, facing lower then average wrestlers just trying to show the world that I am still in excellent shape, and still able to perform and compete with the worlds most elite wrestlers. But since my return to the ring, I have been thrown into the ring with nothing more then common everyday sideshow freaks. J.P Klash and Chris Deville were nothing more then a warm up routine in my eyes. A match that would hopefully get me more readily prepared for my next match which should have been a week later. But due to scheduling errors, I was given a week off. No worries though, I handled it. I looked forward to the next match that I would be placed in. After a week long hiatus I was partnered with some kid named Kevin Williams in a match against the Empire, they were the tag team champions. I was sure that I would finally be getting the big challenge that I was looking for ever since my arrival. But once again, I was mistaken, as they didn’t even bother to show up for our match. Me and Kevin Williams defeated them without even breaking a sweat.

With such little challenge, how did you coup? Did you begin to think that every match you would get in this federation would be about the same, with little to no chance of losing?

To be honest, I was starting to have doubts about my future with this company. How much of a challenge would I actually be given, if the tag team champions were nothing more then a teaser match? But now, now it appears that I have finally been given a match that will truly test my skills. Finally I have be given the opportunity to see if I can hang in with some of the big boys.

Well, there must have been a major change in things there. You look to be in, quite frankly, the best shape of your life, and you look very positive and up beat about the CWF. What happened?

You see my dear friend, I have been placed in a match, that as far as I can tell will be one hell of a ride from beginning to end. It is a match that is being called a six-pack challenge. Six men beating the living hell out of one another. An empty arena, falls count anywhere. One of my three favorite matches is being able to beat someone within an inch of his life. I just feel sorry for my opponents, those five poor souls who are to step into this match with me have no idea what they are in store for. Well at least two of them do. For they have bared witness to what I am capable of. In fact, two of them were my opponents in my very first match here in CWF. Chris Deville and JP Klash were my very first opponents here, and it looks as though I get to face them once again. My other three opponents, I have never faced, nor have I ever even cared to see them in action, but now, I get the chance to face them all. And who are these three damned souls you might ask? Does it really matter with me being in the ring? Anyhow, the other three men that President Stevens has chosen to take place in my match are Derrick Anderson, Sinister and Hardcore Khan. Three men who I am sure will at least give me more of a challenge then I have been given in previous weeks. But seriously now, a six man all out brawl is not something that anyone can take lightly. It should provide the challenge that I have been looking for ever since I got here. Beating one man, is easy, anyone can do it. Beating two men, once again, it has been done by even the lowest of superstars all over the world. But six men, all after the same goal, all vying for the victory, that is one of the hardest matches to win. You must beat all five of your opponents down within an inch of their lives. You have to make sure that they cant, or wont break up a pin when you go for it. You beat a man down enough, he will just lay there watching as the refs hand comes down for the one, two , three. Sounds simple doesn’t it? Well, I guess you could say that it all depends on who your opponents are.

So what do you know of your opponents? And how ready are you to face them in such a challenging match?

Well, we will just have to wait to answer that question. We are here. Time to get out and venture on to our final destination of the night.

If we must Erik. Lets just get up there and get this over with.

What ever you say Jack.

The two men step out of the car, followed by the camera man. They walk up to the large clock tower and Jackson looks up, which in turn makes the cameraman point his camera up to the very top of the tower.

You think that you can handle it up there guys? Its not for the faint of heart.

Of course we can.

Then lets get going.
