Author: "The Natural" Matt Thornhill
Subject: A long flight...

A lone CWF cameraman stands in the airport terminal at BAA Glasgow Airport. A newcomer to the company, his job is set up just like the young, up-and-coming superstars he is assigned to interview: he generally doesn't get the main-event talent to work with. On this rainy, windy day, this particular cameraman is waiting on the greenest of the green. The man on the plane, new to the CWF and to professional wrestling altogether, is the man known as Matt Thornhill.

The plane has been delayed because of the weather, and has been in a holding pattern for at least an hour. The young cameraman's patience is running very thin, but, realizing that his job and advancement in the company depends on this interview, he waits as patiently as possible.

Up in the plane, Matt Thornhill is deep in thought. He's had a lot of time to think; the cross-Atlantic flight he's been on had no in-flight movie. However, he brought his laptop, and a rather extensive collection of DVDs he has burned from past CWF events. He studied other wrestlers during his long flight, then thought and wrote down a little bit about each one. Thornhill has long since put up his laptop, and has been in deep thought ever since.

I sure have seen a lot of less-than-enjoyable appearances from these athletes in the CWF, but not from their wrestling. I wanted to get into an organization where I could wrestle the best, and obviously I have found that. Hmm...maybe I stepped in over my head...

Thornhill pauses in mid-thought, then refocuses his thoughts onto a disturbing trend he observed from interviews with other CWF superstars.

I KNOW this is where I need to be, though. I see a need to...protect...those who may not be able to look after themselves. Those who have interests that may be dangerous for themselves, and for others. I've seen threats made that didn't have any room to be made coming from a professional. I'm going to be that person to sta--

Thornhill's thought's are interrupted as there is a cackle over the loudspeaker.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have seen enough of a break in the weather to allow us to land safely. The 'fasten seat belt' light has been turned on. We will be landing shortly. Thank you for your patience, and thank you for flying United.

Thornhill buckles his seat belt, and before long is on the ground. He gathers his bags and walks down the tunnel, finding a young-looking reporter waiting there for him.

Hm...he looks like there are a million places he'd rather be. Me, I'm glad I'm back on the ground. I'm not a big fan of planes. Besides, this is probably the most important flight I've ever taken.

The interviewer sees Thornhill, straightens his coat and tie, and walks over.

I - Hello there, Mr Thornhill. How does it feel to be a member of the CWF?

T - I probably don't have to say this, but I'm extremely excited to be here. This is a great opportunity for me. I've been told that being accepted into the CWF as a green-as-green rookie should be considered a great honor. And that's just what I'm taking it as.

I - Now, one interesting question for you. You aren't booked on the show, yet you made the flight all the way from the United States to Glasgow, Scotland. Why go to such a length to basically be a spectator?

Thornhill pauses for a second, with a kind of uneasyness about him.

T - Well, if the conditions are favorable, I'll only be a spectator this week. However, I've noticed some things that have disturbed me...things that could come to a head on this very program here in Glasgow. I'm here to make sure that nothing happens that shouldn't.

I - Care to go into any more depth than that?

T - Not at the moment. If need be, you'll find out about it at Glory. Look...I appreciate your time waiting for me and all...but I have to get some rest. Been a LONG flight, and I've got a wrestling event to get rested up for. Thanks again!

With that, "The Natural" Matt Thornhill walks down the terminal. The reporter sighs and shrugs his shoulders as the camera fades out.
