I think hell isn't here until the actual end when Jesus comes to get us to take us with Him. The Bible speaks about how at that time everyone left back will suffer a real feeling of hopelessness because there will be no justice and peace and they will ask the mountains to fall on them because they will want to die but will not be able to. Satan will rule over them but the difference is there will be that God is no longer watching over them.
The hell that the addicts live in presently will be nothing to the reality of absolutely no hope after Jesus has left the evil back to be with themselves and - their god - Satan.
In picturing that, I get goosebumps just imagine what that will be like.
