That is a great question. The area I used to live in was and is infested with it. The ghetto! It just gets worse. My family and the people in this story are all from the same surrounding areas and there is alot of drug use going on there. I moved my kids away from there but it is everywhere. It is now completely out of my family with the exception of my ex hubby. Who knows what he does anymore. He said he was going to rehab, he did and I just don't see a real change in him so I decided to continue to keep my son non-involved with him.
And I'm sure it was a mix of co-dependency on my part, which I learned from my parents. I am a real independent person noa nd always have been, but emotionally was co-dependent. I have since had counseling and I work on it everday of my life so I never fall back in to that again.
And if I meet someone with the same tendencies, I back away. And I know that's okay to do now.
Troubled minds, ya know, I had to learn that I can change that about me.
