Cheryl,
We got custody of our granddaughter by going and getting a lawyer. We tried going through DHS, which is our state agency first but my daughter refused to quit taking the baby over to drug houses so the same day that we talked to the lawyer we met him up at the court house and went in front of a judge and he granted emergancy custody right then. After that we had to go to court about 2 months later to receive permant custody.

If you don't have the money to pay for a lawyer then you could go through your state welfare. It would probably be best that you report your daughter now because if you don't then there is a chance that they would not turn over custody to you because they are getting where they don't want to deal with family because many family members just give the kids back after awhile.
