After a couple of years of sobriety, my instincts tell me that he is using again. I was beginning to let him back in my life, based on his sobriety, but I know that he has relapsed. Is it possible for a relapse to happen only once after being sober for a couple of years?

I started lurking on here a couple weeks ago when I first suspected and reviewed all of the signs and it's still a good checklist.

I confronted him on the phone this morning, but he denied it. I think he used this weekend. Holidays are a great trigger, I suppose. When on the phone, he said he didn't go to sleep last night and wouldn't stop rambling. He also said another friend confronted him during a phone call about using today too. That made me feel so much more sane.

Do I go to completely cutting ties again after so much progress? It kills me that he could do so well at the CMA meetings, therapy and it's all lost just like that.
