A meth induced psychosis- is basically a person taking on the characteristics of a mental illness- like schitzophrenia- due to methamphetamine use. I was in one for at least 9 months. And actually, am the woman who posted the crystalized video on the web. Which- due to the strong feedback- I am considering picking up the documentary where I left off. It was hard to continue- b/c I cant stand to be around dope heads anymore. But of course, that is mainly due to my secret love for it and my dreadful hate of it.

For you or anyone you know that may be in a meth induced psychosis:
symptoms:
1) paranoia (heairng voices-thinking people are following them-conspiricies, etc.)
2) poor hygene (not showering as much/lack of social interest/preoccupied constantly)
3)hyper (not relaxed/noyt sleeping much- which is really what they need!)

Advice and meds
1)SLEEP AND SOBRIETY! (weed can make it worse! lalchohal-honestly is the only thing that helped calm me down- but then that became my next addiction-so be careful!)
2) 5HTP (found at GNC) natural seritonin uptake. This will help balance mood.
3)RESPERIDOL (has to be perscribed) This is known as an anti-psychotic- but who cares what the label is- if it will get you or a loved one help. It is proven to actually restore parts of the brain that are damaged.
4) ATIVAN (prescribed) This got me through many hard times of panic. It is basically like a muscle relaxer-- will calm you and the paranoia.
5) SEREQUIL (helps you sleep and anti-psychotic)

WHEN I FIRST STARTED TAKING MEDS AND SUCH- I SLEPT SOOO MUCH. THE DOC TOLD ME- This goes away- your body needs the sleep. That is why you are sleeping. The main things in the brain that are damaged and cause a meth induced psychosis are teh dopamine and seritonin levels in the brain.
