I've been watching alot of those shows on TV that show a real family going through this and the family always ends up letting go completely until the addict takes the iniative to get cleaned up themselves. There is nothing that can be done on our part except to live our lives. It is hard and I'm sure I don't even know the half of it when it comes to your own child. But I do know that it is important to set those boundsries and keep them.
On this documentary that I watched last night, a young girl was addicted to heroin and she was 2 years clean on the interview. She was asked, "What could your parents have done differently to get you to stop using?" HEr reply, "Nothing." They cut her out completely and when she cleaned up she came back and started a new relationship with her family.
You know the right decision, now it's up to your heart to let go for now.

=)
Heather
