My baby wasn't your normal "meth baby." I wasn't the one getting meth to him, but my husband was. He did this by getting the meth into my body from being intimate with me. I know it sounds weird, but I know it was happening for several reasons I won't go into...anyhow, because of this, my child was getting meth into him.

For six weeks I watched him DT. What he mostly did was cry loud and often, usually waking up only an hour after being fed, and it wasn't to be fed again...it was to fuss. I had difficulty introducing him to solid foods because he seemed to have difficulty swallowing (a known characteristic of meth babies). Also, all of his development was slow. His eyes were slow to mature and focus, his gross motor skills started very late, etc. At the age of four months, he still pretty much just laid there as if he was only two months.

He is now 11 months and all of his skills have caught up. The eye doctor thinks the meth slowed down his development, and he has now been given the "all clear" sign.

I searched the net for information, and could only come up with the difficulty swallowing information. I hope you can get more info than I could.
