It is a daily struggle that we have with wanting to do things ourselves and not leaning on Jesus. We think we can handle, work or coordinate everything and then when we fall, we are hard on ourselves. Just remember that God is in control in your life if you focus on Him, not on the enemy and his destruction. I struggle daily with wanting to control but these are the times in our journey when Jesus - who loves us so much - wants us to know to hold His hands, look to Him and do what we know is right. Right is taking care of yourself and your children and responsibilities and getting out of the way of Spencer's "education" that comes in the form of suffering. It's not your call, it's his. Let God be God and just be guided by Him. Keep praying. I don't think Spencer is clean, just more manipulative and smarter but it doesn't matter - he will come to his wall as long as you're not there to help him get sicker. Hair follicle testing can be done on ANY kind of hair so the fact that he shaved says he is using. They don't need a lot of long hair, just a fair amount.
