Must be nice to be 26 and still living at home. If my child was 26 and straight they would not be allowed to live at home. He has made his bed now let him sleep in it, throw him out. I don't want to sound bad but I have seen so many parents in our place that have addicts for children and so many of them continue to support the addict child by letting them live at home. What these parents don't realize is they are doing nothing to help the child by doing that, they are just making it easy for the addict to continue to use. I have a daughter that is an addict and it killed me when I kicked her out but I have to take care of myself and my family plus her daughter. When they talk about tough love I think that the "tough" part is on the parents or loved ones, the addict could care less at the time. Just be strong and remember that it will get worse before it get better. Also try to find a Al Anon group, this will help you to take care of yourself and learn to detach with love.
