Hi TR! I think you are making the right decision. I will never forget the day my mother was in my kitchen and she asked what was going on (my sister in law had already told her about me and my husband using- I did not know this) I told my mother I was a drug addict and had been using for about 7-8 years. The hurt in her face was unbearable CAS was already involved in our life not for drugs but for the fighting my husband and I were doing around the kids. My mom said to me that if WE didn't get off the drugs that she would have no choice but to go to CAS and tell them of the drug use and that she would take the kids herself before they got lost in the shuffle of foster care. FOR THAT I LOVE HER MORE THAN ANYTHING! THIS WAS MY ROCK BOTTOM (THE THOUGHT OF LOSING MY KIDS) and I new it was only a matter of time before that happened with all that had been going on in my house at that time. I am off the dope now - have my kids - their Dad is elsewhere still using (he says he is not)???????? There is one thing I do know If I hadn't got off the drugs there is no other place I would want my kids than in the care of my parents. You are doing right and who knows maybe by doing this MAYBE it could be your daughters ROCK BOTTOM NEVER give up HOPE!
