I was a dog handler in two remote missle sites in Southern Florida from 75 to 78. Due to the heavy tick and mosquito infestation we dipped our dogs often. As kennel master for one of those sites I often prepared and disposed of the dip for other handlers. In addition to this exposure we, on sentry duty, wore thick applications of insecticide on our clothing and exposed skin. Also, several times a week, during the late night and early morning, an insecticide fogging truck would drive through the site emitting clouds of insecticides which lingered in the air for up to an hour afterwards. We not only accompanied the driver, for security reasons, but continued walking sentry in the mist for up to four hours. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 43 but developed the associated tremors at 35 years old. I've had on and off problems with extremity numbness and swallowing but have been told by my neurologist that these problems may be associated with Parkinson's Disease.

I wish you great success in you negotiations with the VA.
