Please check VA web site, they have updated it on Feb 22, 2012. I have sent an email to the representative at the VA per the following...

http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/thailand.asp

This is what is on the VA web site about USAF Veterans “U.S. Air Force Veterans who served on Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) bases at U-Tapao, Ubon, Nakhon Phanom, Udorn, Takhli, Korat, and Don Muang, near the air base perimeter anytime between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975.”

As I stated in my earlier email, I worked outside the perimeter road from Dec 73-75 next to the fence line, my barracks was on the perimeter as well… I also attended a luncheon with fellow retirees last week from McConnell, AFB, KS and one of my fellow retiree was accepted for the Agent orange Registry…

For Army Vets it has ” U.S. Army Veterans who provided perimeter security on RTAF bases in Thailand anytime between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975.”

It also shows the following statement “A recently declassified Department of Defense (DoD) Report written in 1973 titled, “Project CHECO Southeast Asia Report: Base Defense in Thailand 1968-1972,” contains evidence that there was a significant use of herbicides on the fenced-in perimeters of military bases (where I worked) in Thailand to remove foliage that provided cover for enemy forces.”
VA determined that herbicides used on the Thailand base perimeters may have been tactical and procured from Vietnam, or a strong, commercial type resembling tactical herbicides.”

I would like to know whom to contact to discuss what the VA is putting on the VA web site and your guidance… They obviously do not agree…

I was able to put in a claim over the phone with the VA as the local representative would not take it...

Hope this helps...
