hello vicky,
i live in gloucester not too far from bristol and have recently visited the ancient ram inn in wotton under edge (between gloucester and bristol). it has plenty for your friend to experience in there and the man who owns this property mr john humphries is willing for people to stay overnight all he asks is that they give a donation towards the upkeep of the property. you can find more information about the property by visiting his website (just input the ancient ram inn on a search engine and you should find it). hope this helps you it is well worth considering.
happy hunting.
debbie
