Subject: The Unicorn - Ripon

I dont know if anyone has ever done a vigil in the Unicorn at Ripon, North Yorkshire. If so i would love to hear about it, or any of the other ghost sites in Ripon
The Unicorn is famous for its ghost of Tom Crudd, still regularly seen today
Also there have been sightings of a child in the top window of the Pub. It has existed since 1300's, and as it is next to the maket square, and Ripon having the unique allowance for the local clergy to execute people it has quite a history behind it. There is ghosts of monks, from the 6th century onwards Ripon had a monestry. The catherdral when it came, had the power to execute people in the area and during an uprising by people in the north, were known to execute over 600 people in only a few weeks.
A housing estate know built on the site of the later gallows, where it is believed this happened, when constructed, it was discovered there was unmarked graves there.
There was also a room in the catherdral that when they wanted to extend the building itself , they started putting the bodies of the graves they emptied into. It was a hidden room, and when they had extended the cathedral, bodies buried would be dug up not long after the berial, to save space, and the skull, legs and arms would be put in this room. When opened in the mid 1800's the room was 4ft deep in bones, plus shelves filled with more recent skulls etc.
As i say alot went on in ripon due to its unusual powers that were allowed to this city hence i would love to be involved in any research in Ripon..... so anyone interested in doing a vigil at any of the many sites please email me
There has been settlements here since atleast 500ad
