Hi Dave i have read your message asking for any ideas on any places to investigate in or around sheffield. I recently went with relatives to visit Roche Abbey Ruins, this is a 12 century Cistirian Monk Abbey near to Rotherham. This was in the middle of the afternoon but still the place seemed really eery. We walked all the way round ,as we came to the end of our walk i stopped to wipe my feet ,my relative told me to stand still and smell the air around me . I could smell a strong frangrance in the air , she informed me that it was incense that they burnt in a catholic church.I moved away and the smell was even stronger. She was absolutely sure that the smell was incense as she had spent alot of time in a catholic church growing up. We took pictures and when we got home we were amazed at what we saw, images and orbs can be clearly seen. I am sure that one of the images in the bottom corner is that of a monk as the feet and cloak can be seen really clear. This is my first experience of anything of this nature,i believe that this would be a good place to investigate. Let me know if you have any information on this place and if you decide to investigate ,the photographs are available if you want to look at them.
