Stu an EMF meter is about as much use as a carpet fitters ladder in most places, and to most people. Most havent got the first clue as to its use or an understanding of what it detects. In buildings with electricity switched on, its useless, as any load switching will cause chaos (EG fridge or freezers cutting in or out). The same applies to its use where pylons or transformers are nearby, even running water and of course climatic conditions. when i do use such devices i use dual magnetometers at 90 degrees to each other, these are far more sensitive. these of course would be useless too without data collection under near perfect conditions. The point is, like any piece of equipment, its a waste of time unless you understand fully its functions and applications and how to interpret this information. Regards Karl
