Subject: is there a ghost in my house

in 1980 the man who lived here was tied up and left by some burgulars, a few hours later he died of a heart attack then some months later we brought the house . there have been a few strange things that have happened over the years but lately its got a little worse . One thing was my girlfriend went to the toilet downstairs at about 4:30 am and a box of cigarettes landed on her head and also the tv turns on but the worse one was two days ago when she went to bed about 12:30 pm , she had been asleep for about one hour while i was downstais on the computer when she ran down the stairs crying that she woke up suddenly to find lights hovering over her but she thougt she was dreaming but she got up to come to me because she was spooked but found the door would not open for about 10 seconds , when she got to me she was in a state and would not go back to bed until i went . So we both went to bed and feel asleep and at about 3:35 am she sat up and said its happening again so i opened my eyes and i could see white lights fading in and out but did not tell her and just said go to sleep . The next day when she told me she saw the lights again i asked her to explain what she saw she said white lights fading in and out which then i told i saw the same , could anyone please try to explain what we saw or just let us know what we should do or not do thankyou ....
