As "The Glamorgan Ghost Club" have discovered, dust is one causes of 'Orbs'. It is worth bearing in mind that dust is not the only cause. Tiny water droplets suspended in the air have a similar effect. The results from water droplets can vary hugely as the refractive index of water changes dependant on the chemicals dissolved in it. The same can be true of dust as it will reflect differently dependant on its chemical composition. Sadly, it is my opinion that this is not a problem solely inherent with digital cameras as I have seen similar results from regular film cameras. In my opinion we should just put this phenomenon down to the physical laws pertaining to light.

I hope this is of help and hasn’t shattered your illusions too much. I myself have a firm belief in ghosts as I live in a house infested with them.

Ian
