I grew up in Headcorn, only a few miles from Pluckley and used to drive through there very often. The woods around there are particularly unnerving, but then woods at night always are, aren't they !

I had a couple of good friends who used to live in the village and many of them had experienced ghostly goings-on. One of them was the son of the landlord of one of the pubs (can't remember which one) and they had seen many things, such as glasses literally floating across the bar and smashing, and all the candles in the pub being blown out at once without any trace of wind.

The last time I was there a couple of months ago I spent the evening in the Dering Arms (which I believe is supposed to be haunted) but nothing happened. Apart from getting horrendously drunk !

If you go to the churchyard you should find several gravestones of the Dering family - I believe there have been many sightings here of spirits wandering.
