Subject: Ghostly monk

I used to go to, and host, a lot of sleepover with my friends. Very often we used to sneak out at about midnight or later just to walk and chat because it is so peacful (for want of a better word) late at night. One time we were doing so and we looked over the opposite side of the road and there was a monk walking down it. Basically he just carried on walking until he was out of sight and there isn't really much evidence that it was a ghost but while he was walking he just stared straight ahead and paid us no attention. This was in Dunstable which and when Henry VIII reformed the monastreys the Priory in Dunstable was one which was semi- destroyed. I think it is extremely likely that a number of monks were killed in the process. Whatever it was it sure as hell freaked me out at the time.
