Hi Dan,
Thanks for writing and for your comments.
For now I still don't have a place to send you to "get it right".

Even NOS parts that have been in the box for 60 yrs have gone through color change. The aren't sun faded, but they have either been very hot in the attic, or in steel construction Bldgs, or been down in damp basements. Heat & cold & humidity, plus the fact that the chemicals react over time leads to confusion as too what may be the real deal.

Your best bet it to buy a NOS BlackOut Drive Light bulb. Make sure it is in a WWII dated box not Korean war dated one. That's the best color match I can think of for the price. Large enough, flat enough, cheap enough, and still waxed/cosmoline sealed.

Use that as your Master to test the new formulas against.
Of course, the new formulas should be set out in the hot sun for 2 weeks to give them a little faded in chance to match.
All the best,
Brian
