In the distance, on the slopes of the valley, a pair of intelligent eyes watches the two wolves fight. The eye's owner, a huge male wolf, is crouched low to the ground. Oddly colored eyes follow the every move of the other Varg, and a silvery pelt flecked with white bristles. He knew these were fresh Balkar; new to the camp. But they seemed to already be experianced fighters.

The watcher was Brechin. A highly honored Balkar, and one of Drekka's most valuable. He had been with her almost as long as the great wolf Sway. However, Brechin rarely involved himself with the fights against Khaz unless he felt like it. It was very unusual for anyone to see him.

He had been too far away to hear exactly what was said between the wolves, but he had seen their trouble with the rabbit, and laughed to himself when they hit each other. It appeared to him that they knew one another, but he was unsure weather they were realated, for they did not look alike. Brchin watched as the black and white, blurry forms rushed at each other time and time again. And he could see the drops of blood staining the fresh snow. But he did not move from his sopt. They could not catch his scent from there, and he wished to watch to see the outcome of the fight.
