His eyes darken greatly and his voice deepens.

But I was forced to watch my family be devoured by one with what the 2 leggers call rabies. I watched my father die, and that gave me confidence. I could survive better than my whole family. I was more than them, better than them. They had died, left me alone, and so I turned my back on them. What I call my past is of no importance to me, and it would not affect me in any way."
He says with pride, breaking away from her gaze and licking a wound on his flank, which had opened again. Truth or not, his past didn't bother him, yet he had grown up differently than one would have guessed. He had not grown alone, he had company, but this was not mentioned. She had abandoned him, so he would abandon her.
