Brechin breathed a sigh as Demon left. Most wolves would have been scared that he would try to come back and start up again, but the Balkar knew what his mind was probably working at, and he relaxed a bit. The iced pelt still bristled, but now he shifted his attention to Drekka. The male did not bow or even nod to the Drappa, but he listened for her words that he knew would soon emit from that blood-thirsty mouth that had taken so many lives. For a moment, Brechin's eyes met the beady ones of Frarrow, and he grined and evil grin and clipped his jaws together mockingly. The bird ruffled his feathers indignantly, his dislike for the male evident. His own beak clicked, showing he would not be set aside so easily by one like Brehcin.
Nightfall and Gallia immediatly bowed low to Drekka, though she barely acknowledged them. She nodded to Demon and Chijiresusu, and then shot a glance at Brechin and Letha. The glowing, mirthless eyes sent icy chills down the spines of the two remaining of the small Balkar group. Nightfall shifted uneasily. Gallia tried to calm a trembling paw. Her fur bristled. Drekka smiled.
"It is quiet alright, Diablo. I understand. Perhaps with time, Demon will learn to be more calm at times," said the Drappa. Every word carried venom, and its ice continued to make Gallia and Nightfall nervous. "However, I am very pleased with this fight. You all did well. I commened you, Chijiresusu and Diablo. Though I do not know where your sister went to..." She looked to Nightfall and Gallia. She had known all this was to happen. She had foreseen the deaths of SwItCh and Storm. And the frenzy of Demon. And Nikira's retreat. Even Brechin's defense of Letha had been seen. The Balkar queen turned her attention to Nightfall and Gallia and smiled. "Well done, my wolves," she said. Brechin's ears flattened. "You are to be praised." The two relaxed almost completely. They even looked happy. Then the Drappa bid them all farewell, after a glare to Letha. She began to walk away, and Brechin looked to the others. Then he padded gracefully after her. He had no reason to explain himself for protecting Letha. His reasons were his own, and he was not going to explain them to the siblings. He said nothing to any of them, but simply left.
For a moment, Drekka said nothing as Brechin fell into stride with her, but Frarrow huffed and took to the air, unwilling to be any nearer to Brechin.
"Brechin," said Drekka finally. "At midnight, take Nightfall and Gallia to the lake and dispose of them." Brechin looked up in surprise, though he had cought the mockery in her voice as she praised the two moments before.
"Yes..."
Drekka paused thoughtfully. "As a matter of fact, take Nikira, Demon, and Chijiresusu with you. Nikira must be worked on. Demon just needs to realize whom to respect. And Chijiresusu must simply be there in case Demon gets out of paw. Understood? Letha we shall deal with later."
Brechin closed his eyes and nodded.
"Go and tell them to be in the camp at midnight. Any who aren't there will answer personally to me. And they will not enjoy it..." With that the Drappa walked away, Frarrow gliding low over her head.
Brechin turned back round and trotted back to the others. He held his head high, and looked each wolf in the eye before he spoke. "Nightfall, Gallia. The Mistress demands that you be in the camp at midnight. I shall meet you there. Chijiresusu, wait with them and have Demon and your sister with you. I will see you all tonight. Anywolf not there shall be fed to the jaws of Wolfbane himself. Drekka shall have your skin." His voice showed the seriousness of the orders, and he nodded in farewell to them. "Be there." He turned and left, giving a look to Letha that said "Careful of whom you fight with...This can't happen again." Then he was gone.
