Maw writhed back to reveal glittering fangs, bared in dominance over the two Kerl. Aud flicked in the direction of Falissi, aknowledging[sp?] her presance. Silent, diciplined paws carried the Balkar Captain towards the two Varg once more, and his velvet ears were pressed back. Iced orbs studied them carefully, and his large paws brought him to circle them slowly, contemplating. His eyes drifted towards the vulnerable throat, where Life bubbles so close to the surface. Tongue lolled out and Brechin licked his maw.
"You wish to speak with my Queen?" he replied. It was more of a statement then a question, however. "Very well. But I warn thee: My Mistress is generous most of the time. But hold your tongue. Do not speak unless spoken to." His voice was cold and hard. Brechin's voice alone held power in it, and it was his voice, no matter how rarely heard, that sent fear into the lesser Balkar, and silenced the higher ones.
The silver male stopped and threw his head back, maw letting out a powerful howl. His voice shuddered across the snows, and twisted like a whisp of smoke through the trees of the forest beyond the valley. A silence followed the call, and they waited. Then an answering call was heard. This was a frighting howl. Blood-curdling and cold like a midwinter frost. A few moments later, the skies grew dark suddenly, and a shadow passed overhead. A black wolfess appeared over a nearby hillock, a raven pearched on her shoulder, and as she approached, the wolf Brechin went to meet her. He did not bow. He did not speak words of greeting or respect. He merely went to her, and whispered in his ear, glancing back at the newcomers. Drekka nodded, almost as though she had already known whatever was said. Then she approached the two Varg. As she passed, the eyes of Brechin and the raven met, and Brechin clipped his jaws together mockingly. The Scavenger replied by clacking his own beak, and the wolf gave a malevolent grin.
"Caedes and Sordes..." she said as she arrived. Blazing eyes sent unease into the air, and the air grew distinctly colder (if that was possible) at her approach. "From what lands have you come to me?"
