I guess it is important to note that Dean became governor Due to Dick snelling's death. Dick was a small blip between the Kunin and Dean eras, such a small blip that it is not prudent to use him as a prop up for Deans accomplishments. Also even though the figures do show an increase in the number of uninsured in VT, we can argue on the details all day long. What we can't argue is that even if there was a small decrease in the number of unisnsured, it came as a result of Dean and the legisltaure tripling the amount the state spent on medicaid. A roughly $175 million dollars increase in the state share of medicaid calls for much greater successes than you could ever point to being achieved by Dean's policies. Let us not get into the fact that the state underpays Dr's and hospitals and the rise in the premiums that those of us that pay for our own insurance have seen due to Dean's failing policies. And a projected deficit of nearly $100 million by 2008 man that is success.
