I agree that the police are not to blame here. The mall management, however, acted foolishly. It might not have been illegal to ask the man to leave ... it was foolish and it was contrary to the spirit of the First Amendment. These men were not creating a disturbance, they were shopping.

Some have argued that this infringement on free expression is justifiable because this is, "nothing compared to the government organized destruction of many other countries." This is just a variation on the "two wrongs make a right" defense.

To add insult to injury, the men who wore these t-shirts will be blamed for being "anti-American" ... some people will never understand that standing up for your principled beliefs is the most American thing that a citizen can do.
