Maybe they understand that their is no adverse affects on the environment and have witnessed the benefit that the Alaskan pipeline has had on the caribou herds. And (since when did we start starting sentences with and anyway? the north slope is allegedly not that pristine. I've seen pictures of what is reportedly the spot in question that look like a wasteland, but none of us have been there in person so I think we all should be careful not to be so hardline and sure of our positions on the real quality of the area.
